Central Florida Fair Competition

cakes/ribbon.jpgI've never been in a cake competition before. I found out about the Central Florida Fair at the very last minute and  I decided to do it. I had only five days to do this cake in a week that I already had 11 weddings to do. Sometimes your passion can make you do crazy things!
I didn't know what I wanted, but I knew I wanted something different.
I decided on a Tuscan design.
I was entering the wedding division and wanted a cake that was tall and made a big impression, yet being my first competition, I didn't know what was best.
It was an interesting ride. I will post more photos in my "News and Info." page. Next year, I want to invite my students to participate in the competition. It is a good way to push yourself. There are different divisions: Amateurs, Youth, Professionals, etc.
I took the Tuscan to the fair Sunday afternoon after my 11-Wedding-Cake week. On the following Saturday night, I went to the fair with my family and was so excited when I saw 2 ribbons. I had won First Prize in the Wedding Cake Division and Best In Show. I never expected the second one! I hope you can join this competition next year!...
Press the photo to link you to the Central Florida Fair Page were you can
find more cake photos of the competition.
